Project Overview As Nigeria’s egg-laying hen industry accelerates its modernization and large-scale transformation, an increasing number of investors are choosing fully automated cage rearing solutions to enhance productivity and competitiveness. XINFENG Machinery recently successfully delivered a fully automated hen-laying hen farming project for a Nigerian farmer, managing 30,000 hens. Utilizing an advanced H-type stacked cage rearing system, the project helped the client achieve high-density, high-efficiency commercial egg-laying hen farming on limited land. Nigeria is Africa’s largest egg producer, with poultry contributing over 25% to agricultural GDP. However, traditional farming methods face challenges such as land scarcity, rising labor costs, and low productivity. In early 2026, Nigerian egg prices continued to rise, with farmgate prices reaching approximately 5,500 Naira per crate and retail prices between 6,000 and 8,500 Naira. Against this backdrop, investing in automated farming equipment has become a key path for Nigerian egg-laying hen farms to reduce costs and increase efficiency.
